There are many types of fabrics in the modern textile industry. Stretch fabrics are one among them, this fabric is one of a kind synthetic fabric that stretches. This fabric is mostly used in contoured clothing, sportswear, jeans, ladies tops, and many more. The stretch fabric can be classified into two way stretch or four-way stretch. 

 


TWO WAY STRETCH FABRICS:

The stretch fabric that usually stretches in a single direction is called two-way stretch fabric. In the case of knit fabric, it does stretch in another direction too.

 

FOUR-WAY STRETCH FABRIC:

Four-way stretch fabric, on the other hand, stretches on both directions, across the length and width.

 

TESTING PARAMETERS OF STRETCH FABRIC:

The usual testing parameters of stretch fabric are

stretch recovery time

elongation percentage

 

FINISHING DONE IN STRETCH FABRICS:

Normal finishing is mostly used in stretch fabrics and garments. However, washing and pressing temp is controlled. High temperatures are usually not recommended for stretch fabric.
